A little about me: I’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 15 years, balancing a full-time career as a marketing professional with raising two wonderful toddlers, Frankie and Olive. You can call me Flywheel Mama.

You are right to assume that I am a millennial because I am one. And even though I am part of the largest population today, it can be – well lonely. I am one of the first ones from my circle of friends to get married and have children. Navigating through marriage, parenthood, and career can be pretty intense. It’s like a three-legged stool – you risk falling if a leg is weaker than the other two. And if you add family and friends…oof…

As a millennial mom, I’ve found that navigating parenting in the Bay Area, marriage, and career growth feels like balancing a three-legged stool – you risk falling if a leg is weaker than the other two. And even though I am part of the largest population today, it can be lonely. Add family and friendships in the mix. It can get overwhelming.

I’ve learned that relying on “Dr. Google” or doom-scrolling (or brain rotting) on social media advice isn’t always enough or right. In fact, I’ve cut out Instagram to focus on decisions that truly fit my family’s needs, making choices on my own terms and with my husband.

I’ve been inspired by women who’ve carved fulfilling careers while nurturing children and families, and their consistent advice is: choose what works best for you.

Over time, friends and colleagues have sought my advice, whether at playgrounds or Zoom calls. It feels gratifying to give back by sharing my honest, sometimes unconventional, experiences.

This blog is my vehicle to share genuine, unfiltered perspectives on working and parenting in the SF Bay Area, focusing on balancing career and family life as a millennial mom.
